What is Agricultural Waste?

Agricultural Waste is waste produced at agricultural premises as a result of agricultural activity.
Agricultural premises are defined in the Agriculture Act 1947 as land used for : horticulture, fruit growing, seed growing, dairy farming, livestock breeding and keeping, grazing land, meadow land, osier land (growing willow ), market gardens and nursery grounds. It also includes woodlands where that use is ancilliary to the use of land for other agricultural purposes. This definition includes all arable farming.
Riding stables, equine centres, kennels, animal parks, ornamental fish producers are not classed as agricultural premises and, therefore, do not produce agricultural wastes.
