WHAT TO EXPECT
Our farm work will be on all types of farms as we have a wide variety of enterprises in the area. The work will be mainly on fruit and vegetable farms for large groups of workers who will be offered mobile home accommodation. We will also have work for those with more specialist skills on arable, dairy, sheep or pig farms in which case workers may be working on their own or with one or two others. Accommodation may be with the family or in a nearby apartment. Workers are free to find their own accommodation. Most placements are away from large towns but we do have excellent public transport.
Our climate is changeable from January through to April and is usually wet & cold. Our main summer weather can begin as early as May where we can reach temperatures of 15 – 20o C and in the height of summer we can reach 30o C but we also get some rain. The climate starts to get cooler by late September and October through to December it is very similar to the beginning of the year. Please make sure you are prepared.
